Habitat. Brushy and weedy hillsides and canyons, open woodlands, gadens, nd lawns.
Nesting. Nest is a cup of twigs, grass, and stems on ground or up to 35 ft. above ground in dense shrub or tree. Eggs 2-6, pale blue-green, spotted with brown and black. Incubation about 11 days, by female. Young leave nest 8 days nest after hatching. Sometimes 3 broods a year.
Food. Seeds, grain, and insects.
